Admissions

Welcome from the Dean

Thank you for your interest in The University of Toledo College of Law.  What you will find on this site – and, more importantly, in our law school – may surprise you.

The University of Toledo College of Law offers an excellent education in a small, friendly, and caring environment.  You will be exposed to well-known scholars, many of whom play national roles in their fields of expertise, publish articles in leading law journals, and author books used in law schools and by practicing lawyers. As importantly, they are excellent teachers who put your learning and professional preparation first.  With small classes and an open-door policy, we offer a chance to get to know your professors as teachers, mentors, and friends.  We provide a thorough grounding in the law and opportunities for specialization and practical training.  We do this in a supportive community notable for the tremendous rapport among its students and with its faculty and staff.   There are numerous student groups and organizations, allowing for social and professional interactions.

We make every effort to make this outstanding education available at an affordable cost.  The University of Toledo College of Law was recently included in a national publication’s list of the Best Value Law Schools in the country.  Selection for this designation was based on above-average bar passage and employment rates, coupled with affordable tuition.  We are proud of this recognition because it means that our graduates are less likely to face overwhelming debt – and therefore have greater choice in planning their futures.  As you will see inside, graduation from The University of Toledo College of Law has been the path to success for many, many of our graduates.

Choosing a law school is an important decision, and I urge you to investigate your choices thoroughly.  We invite you to review the links to the left, and, especially, visit our campus to meet our faculty and students and sit in on a class. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Steinbock
