Mr. Briley is a Partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP since 1984. He has served as lead counsel in numerous antitrust and trade regulation and transportation law cases and provides regular antitrust; business and transportation law counseling for clients involved in a variety of domestic and international industries such as glass, consumer products, industrial products, chemicals, transportation, health care, building products, and scientific products. He regularly provides corporate counseling in the areas of antitrust compliance and risk avoidance, mergers and acquisitions and litigation avoidance, commercial law matters such as secured transactions and UCC law matters, as well as national and international transportation law issues. His involvement in civil litigation includes serving as lead trial counsel and also as a litigation manager in major cases involving products liability, monopolization, exclusive dealing, predatory pricing, mergers, price discrimination, commercial law, lender and borrower liability cases and transportation cases.
He has also served as lead counsel in criminal antitrust cases representing both corporations and individual defendants. Mr. Briley currently serves as outside General Counsel to a national trade association and several international companies and he has practiced extensively before federal and state trial and appellate courts and various state and federal regulatory agencies. Mr. Briley received his J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law. Of his many professional accomplishments, he has been a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Board of Bar Examiners from 1996 until 2012.
