Section C. Upper Level Writing Requirement
- Each J.D. candidate who began law studies in or after August 2007 is required to enroll in and
pass with a grade of C or better two (2) courses in Advanced Research and Writing.
- Unless a student has prior written approval of the Dean, a student may not enroll in more
than 1 section of Advanced Research and Writing in any one semester, nor may a student
enroll in Advanced Research and Writing simultaneously with an Independent Research
project or a seminar requiring a substantial research and writing project.
- Students who enroll in and receive a grade of S in Law Review, or enroll in and receive a
grade of C or better in an Independent Study, Honors Independent Study or a course
listed at registration as a Seminar will be deemed to have completed one (1) of the two
required Advanced Research and Writing experiences.
